Berlin´s DENSEHALL and the british Partyseries OVERKILL join forces to
bring you a unique night of postapocalyptic rave madness! No less
than 7 (seven!) live sets are scheduled (plus 3 dj-sets…) -
so be prepared for a diverse and long night!

At the top of the bill is legendary dutch Beatslicer BONG
RA, a guarantee for sweaty shirts and shaking pants. His releases on
Labels such as AdNoiseam, Planet Mu and countless others defined the genre
once called Breakcore like few other producers on the
planet. He will be bringing an armada of 6 japanese beat samurais
with him such as OVE-NAXX, another Breakcore superstar that
hasn´t performed on any Berlin stage in years. DJ Scotch Egg will be
performing one of his rare full-length sets under his DEVILMAN moniker
(along with a special guest vocalist on stage). MARUOSA is sure to clean your ears with a
short, powerful, sonic experience. KAKAWAKA will give you an introduction
into bass origami. Heavy Beats for your dancing pleasure will be
delievered by the turntable wizzards DINGU DYSU & SHINS-K hailing all the way from nippon too.
Also in store for the evening is the finest in cutting-edge dubstep from british producer DEADFADER,
who has gained considerable attention in the past
months since the release of his full length album on 3by3 Records.

And on top of all this we even have KARL-MARX-STADT presenting you his unique approach
to modern bass music by performing tracks from his new album that has
just been released on double vinyl on the Sozialister Plattenbau label.
Booooom!

September 2nd, 2011 No comments

Brainfeeder Special

Flying Lotus´ Label Brainfeeder has caused some pretty big waves in its short history. We were very happy to have two of the label´s protagonists, TEEBS and JEREMIAH JAE play this week in our shop. In the first hour we´ll be featuring the news and some goodies that have come into our shop in the past month and in the second hour we´ll be focusing on the past, present and future of Brainfeeder by listening to some of their more recent releases. In particular, we´ll take a deeper look at the music of TEEBS and JEREMIAH JAE, two of the label´s most gifted artists.

Tonight: in-store gig with Teebs & Jae

September 1st, 2011 No comments

Super short-notice announcement: we’re having a new in-store gig tonight at the Dense record store, with Teebs and Jae, both from the Brainfeeder label.

The short version:

TEEBS
JAE
Tonight (!) at 19:30
live at the Dense store
free entrance

The longer version:

Sometimes, opportunities for great show just come at the very last minute, and this is the case again with tonight’s free instore show at Dense.
Teebs and Jae, both from the US and both releaasing on Flying Lotus’s “Brainfeeder” label, are currently on tour throughout Europe, but sadly without any dates in Europe. This really couldn’t be, and your favorite record store decided to invite both of them and present their intricate and modern hip hop to all of you.

Hailing from Los Angeles, TEEBS was spotted a few years ago by none other than Mr Flying Lotus, who invited him to release on his then nascent Brainfeeder label (who has ever since brought such acts as Lorn, The Gaslamp Killer and Samiyam). From delicate to upbeat, always very detailled, personal and mesmerizing, his tracks are the perfect fit for a relaxed evening at Dense.

TEEBS will be joined tonight by his younger labelmate Jae, whose heavier beats and hip hop should set us all in the mood, as they’ve been doing all accross Europe in the recent tour.

Remember, this starts at 19:30 and is free. We know, this is super short-noticed, so please spread the word and tell your friends!

27.08.11: Densehall with Slugabed (Ninja Tune / Planet Mu), Anstam (50Weapons), My Dry Wet Mess (Brainfeeder), MFO & Dense Allstars

August 22nd, 2011 No comments

Zwölf Monate. Zwölf Nächte. Siebenundvierzig Künstler. Tausend Genres.
