Here is Dense again, sacrificing hours of enjoyment in today’s sun to bring you some fresh beats and their accompanying newsletter.

The record of the week is pretty obvious this time around: Boxcutter is transmitting a new “Arecibo Message”, which we received on both CD and LP, and all wholeheartedly recommend. Less bassy and more playful is another long awaited release, the “Toned Downed” 12″ by Detroit’s Soundmurderer, and we are also happy to carry Led Piperz‘s “Aerial / Otherside”, as this act’s in-store gig at Dense last Winter has stayed a fond memory.

A few things have arrived in new formats, mainly Buraka Som Sistema‘s “Black Diamonds” and MF Doom‘s “Born Like This”, which are now available not only on CD, but also double vinyl. On the other hand, Martyn‘s “Great Lengths”, which we already had on wax, is now here on silicon as well.

Other releases of note this week include Wisp‘s new album, “The Shimmer Hour” on Rephlex, a second compilation 12″ by Berlin’s 50 Weapons, or “Vs Children”, the new LP on Tomlab by Casiotone For The Painfully Alone.

Interesting trend in the breakcore aisle, with three releases mixing insane breaks and metal, by the furiosos of Death Storm, Eustachian and Whourkr. Your neighbouring grandma will not approve.

It’s time to recycle your animals, by the way: the two Animal Collective albums “Feels” and “Sung Songs” have been re-mastered, re-designed and re-pressed by Fat Cat, and re-stocked by Dense.
