New Dense newsletter and the second one with our new “broad” classification. We’ve been told since last time that you guys wanted a section fo hip hop alone, so here it is. Besides this, the whole thing is still divided into an electronic part, an accoustic / guitar part, and a weirdo / noise one.

Plenty of goodies this week, starting with the beautiful new album by Matt Elliott, “Howling Songs” (on Ici d’Ailleurs, both on CD and LP) as well as the equally mesmerizing collaboration between Tim Hecker and Aidan Baker (of Nadja fame) on Alien8, also there on both formats. We’ll rock the guitar section with some electronic beats with the new remix 12″ by Liquid Liquid, or pitch it all down and paint it all black with the “Sunn O))) presents Pentemple” heavy LP on Southern Lord. Evil.

Time to go shake some booty in the club? Get ready with now both volumes of the Mandy / Booka Shade “O Superman” 12″ on Get Physical, get all hysterical about all the new Kitsuné 12″ we received this week, get in-line for the “Berghain” releases on Ostgut, get dirty with the new 12″ by Ikonika and King Midas Sound on Hyperdub, get out-bassed by D1 and Tes La Rok on Dup Police, or get brainy with Barbara Morgenstern new release on Monika.

Oh, and did we mention we have the new Squarepusher album, on both CD and pretty nice double LP? Well, we got the new Squarepusher here. Like, now, with bass and IDM trickery.

Very distinct but both special mentions go to the (finally) vinyl version of Onra’s “Chinoiseries” and his mash-up of hip hop and far east vintage records and, on the other side, to Stavros Gasparatos “Rehearsals” CD, a real treat to anybody who enjoyed Alva Noto & Ryuchi Sakamoto’s collaboration (which we still have, of course).
