Damn, it’s already almost October. Who else hadn’t seen the Autumn coming to Berlin so fast? Anyway, kids, summer might be over, but Dense’s still there, serving you good sound all throughout the cold days.

How about starting out with the new Clickbox 12″ on M_nus (speaking of which, we also restocked some very nice oldies by Plastikman / Richie Hawtin), and keeping it warm in the techno section with some new releases on Liebe Detail (by Sven Tasnadi, Matthias Meyer and Sven Weisemann), Palette, or Tuning Spork (“Ratman”, by Minimomo).

If it’s still too cold for you, move over to the dubstep aisle, where we just got the new Dub Police release (by Sub Scape), a very massive King Cannibal 12″ on Combat, Forsaken’s new (and remarkable) 12″ on Soul Motive, and Biome’s new heavy hitters on Subsonik.

Do you still have a Gameboy lying around? Come and check out Dj Scotch Egg’s new album on Load Records (“Drumized”), and we’ll see who gets the best high score. And similarly hot in the breakcore section, note that, yes, we’ve restocked the very first Venetian Snares releases (“Printf” on CD and “Shitfuckers” on 12″).

What’s very, very hot this week is the “Shhh!” totally unofficial bootleg by Flying Lotus, which is pretty much sold out everywhere else. So act fast and get over here if you want to secure a copy.

We were faster this time around, and the list is a bit shorter than usual. Here’s what arrived on the Dense shelves this week.

Let’s hear for techno, with the new single by local heroin Ellen Allen, “Elephone”, Modeselektor’s “Dark Side Of The Sun (feat. Puppetmastaz)” (both on Bpitch), the “Total 9″ triple LP compilation from Kompakt, Format B’s full length “Steam Circuit” and Dave Aju new “Open Wide” CD. Also quite worth a listen is the very dub-techno oriented “Over Here Remixes” 12″ by (the usually more dubstep focused) Appleblim and Peverelist.

And while we’re speaking of Dubstep, Skream delivers a second new 12″ this month, this time the “Midnight Request Line Remixes” on Tempa (with reworks by Hot Chip and Switch), Unitz has a very wobbly “Drop” on Dub Police, Shackleton comes with a new 10″ and a new 12″ (respectively on Mordant and Scape), and Jack Sparrow plunders the beats on his new 12″ for Contagious.

Remarkable this week as well is Pivot’s new full length on Warp, “O Soundtrack My Heart”, available on both CD and 2LP, which should give goosebumps to everybody into Battles. We’ve also got the US re-release of Stars Of The Lid’s “Avec Laudanum” and the vinyl versions of the two heavy hitter that are Boris’s “Smile” and Wolves In The Throne Room’s “Two Hunters” (both on Southern Lord).

More joyful, the electro aisle is bouncing this week to the sound of the brand new Mickey Moonlight 12″ on Ed Banger, Kavinsky’s new picture 12″ on Record Makers or yet another remix 12″ for Jamie Lidell, this time on Pudel Produkte.

Keeping the noisiest for the end, the breakcore local heroes Society Suckers and Duran Duran Duran mash it up together on a new white label, super limited but already available, while Prometheus Burning bring some “Retribution” on a luxury (if not grungy) 12″.

The seminal Maria club is turning 10 years old this week, and Dense is celebrating together with our neighboors and friend of Shitkatapult.
Save the date: on September 12th (next Friday), the Dense DJ Team will perform to open a Shitkatapult-driven night at Maria, together with Strobocop (also of Dense and Karaoke Kalk), Daniel Meteo, Fenin, Max Monatana and T.Raumschmiere.
That’s all happening at Maria/ Josef and starting up at midnight sharp. Be there, unless you want to wait ten more years.

A new Dense newsletter, to keep your ear warms in these rainier days of early September in Berlin.

First and foremost, note that, after a small pause, the Dense in-store gigs are starting again this Saturday (September 6th), with live performances by Takeshi Nishimoto (City Centre Offices) and Kazumi (known for her participation to tracks by Mu-Ziq, Arovane, Springingtgut and Enduser) together with Tim Lensenta. The entrance is free as always, and it will all starts at 8PM.

On the menu this time are first three releases of labels closely affiliated to Dense. T.Raumschmiere presents his new “Animal Territory / Brenner” single (featuring Puppetmastaz and Deichkind), released as always by Shitkatapult. Karaoke Kalk has a new CD out, “Right Time” by Maluco, and the new 12″ by Cakebuilder, “Feeding The Worms”, bridges breakcore and heavy dubstep on Ad Noiseam.

Then, the electronica section welcomed this week new releases on Onpa))) (by Kyoka) and Dekorder (by Black To Comm), while the techno one got fresh sound by Sascha Funke (“Mango remixes” on Bpitch Control), and Marco Carola. The dubstep aisle has gained some tons of basses with the new 12″ by the always appreciated Starkey (on Creative Space), MRK1 (on Contagious) and TRG (on Naked Lunch).

Slower, prettier and more “indie” we’ve just received three new CD from the N5md label, by Bitcrush, Near The Parenthesis and Lights Out Asia. And in a more vocal direction, check out Dabrye’s new 12″ on Ghostly Int.

Finally, note the big backstock of Column One items this week. There are quite a few rarities in the lot.
