First, thank you to all of you who came out for the short noticed shows by Kyoka and Toytone at the Dense store last week-end. A couple of pictures are now available on our Flickr account.

Several new releases from “important” acts have surfaced this week, providing a soundtrack to everybody’s post football mania (or is it trauma)? It all starts with the very playful, original and tasty “Supreme Balloon” new album by Matmos, then jumps to “Detrimentalist”, the new rave-infused, high speed album by breakcore idol Venetian Snares, to arrive to The Bug long-awaited new full length, “London Zoo”, this time released on Ninja Tune. Jamie Lidell keeps on riding the “Jim” wave, and delivers this week an “Another Day” new single to his recent album.

Switching from confirmed names to newcomers or underrated acts, we were quite impressed by Jasper TX‘s new CD on the great Miasmah label, somewhere between drones and post-rock. The dubstep section also welcomed two “new” heavy hitters this week with new albums and singles by both Ital Tek (on Planet Mu) and Scuba (on their Hotflush label), and the hip hop one gets a very strong album back in stock with Oh No‘s “Dr No’s Oxperiment” on Stones Throw.

Before we start: we’re throwing a new in store party this very Saturday (June 21st) for the Fête de La Musique. Pretty varied newsletter this week, as the scope of the spotlight new releases couldn’t be any wider. Judge by yourself. Beatier and more broken are this week Enduser’s latest album, “Left”, finally available on vinyl (we’ve had the CD for some time already), as well as AZ-Rotator‘s new full length album, “Undefinable Sugar Cube”, released on Barcelona’s Lovethechaos label.

On the one hand, big consensus among the Densers for “Die Wichtigkeit”, the debut 12″ on Sonig by Xberg Dhirty Cru, a quite absurd, insane and very tongue-in-cheek record of twisted german hip hop.

On the other hand, things get a lot more serious, a lot cleaner, and a lot more black and white with Alva Noto’s new full length album, “Unitxt”, out on Raster Noton and available on both CD and vinyl as well as with Byetone‘s “Death Of A Typographer” CD, als on Raster Noton.

Another important release just fresh from the pressing plant is the long awaited “Los Angeles” full length by Flying Lotus, in stock on both CD and vinyl

Dubstep fans will enjoy 2562‘s new “Aerial” album, as well as the recent Benga and Coki records on Big Apple, and Rob Spark‘s “Prayer remixes”, featuring a very nice version by Planet Mu’s Distance.

Dense is selling tickets for this year’s edition of the Goldmund festival, which will take place on the 2nd and 3rd of August at a yet undisclosed open air location near Berlin. There will be no tickets sold at the festival, so make sure to grab one of our remaining tickets in advance.

The line-up of the festival this year features Bleubird with Jayrope, Goldendiskoships, Snöleoparden, Alexander Tucker and plenty of others.

First Dense newsletter since our relocation to the sunny Bersarin Platz. We’re still there (and probably more than ever), and have quite a few releases of notes in catalog this week.

Friends of the dancefloor will shake their bodies to T.Raumschmiere‘s “E” single (available this month at a special, friendly price), as well as to Housemeister‘s new’s “Who Is That Noize” album.
Less tech, more dub: hot and in stock is 2562‘s full length album, “Aerial”, released on Pinch’s Tectonic label. Still in the dubstep bin, we’ve got enough releases on Senseless, Terminal Dusk and Immerse recordings to send all the dubstep kids headnodding for weeks on end.
The rude awakening will come from the breakcore fans, who will bounce around to the new Donna Summer 12″ on Cock Rock Disco and two new relesases on both Peace Off (Dr Bastardo and Amph) and Death$ucker (Krumble and Stivs).
In need of something calmer for some home-listening, you say? Check out the excellent “Treny” album by Jacaszek on Miasma, Ben Frost‘s albums (now both in stock, on CD and vinyl), more or less of all Lustmord’s back catalog or four new releases by the ever prolific Machinefabriek.
