Dense

The time has come: Dense is moving this week to the new store at Bersarin Platz. All carried on that we are with screws, paint and light bulbs, we skipped a week for the newsletter. Here’s a new one, which will also be the last sent from the current store at the Oderberger Str. The next one will come from the shiny new place in Friedrichshain.

A little summary of the week:
-Dense will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday (May 28th and 29th), it will re-open on Friday, May 30th, at the new address on Petersburger Str 81 at Bersarin Platz.

-everybody is invited to the two opening parties we will have next week end. Dense will be graced by live performances from Guido Möbius, FS Blumm, Snoleoparden and GoldenDiskoShip, and on Saturday by Touane, Andrea Sartori, AddNoise and The Monokid. It will start around 19h on both days. Please come visit the new store, bring some friends, and come party with us.

-Dense is moving, but is keeping the same opening hours (13h to 20h every day except Sunday), the same team and the same contact email addresses. Same store, new clothes.

Let’s speak about music now: noticeable arrivals this time around include some very tasty glitchy clicks from the Raster Noton team, including a very nice album by Kangding Ray and an equally nice one by Coh together with Throbbing Gristle’s Cosey.

Almost as minimal but more club oriented, Dense’s own Touane has a new 12″ called “The Birds” out on Persona (and remember, he’s playing at the store on Saturday). Club-oriented as well but a lot less minimal are the new album and single by Meat Beat Manifesto (“Autoimmune” and “Lonely Soldier”, both on Planet Mu).

The electronica news this week aim less at the dancefloor and more at the soundtrack, with The 23s‘ new “Bolivia” LP on Karaoke Kalk and Hecq‘s “Night Falls”. Finally, guitar fans will “Smile” with Boris’s new album, while electronic heads should “Get To Know Your Dance Music” with this DVD documentary about the Roland 303 and house.

Quite a nice occasion and place to celebrate the recent release of Apparat’s double CD “Things to be frickled”.
Presale tickets cost 12 € (instead of the 15 € you would have to shell out at the door), and are available from now on at the store in the Oderberger str.

Yes, we are moving again, and this time away from Prenzlauer Berg. There are plenty of reasons for this (and feel free to leave a comment with your opinion below), and the move will allow us to present more music in a better way. We’re really excited about this. And to answer to most cunning readers: yes, we are moving in where Freizeitglauben used to be.
So note the date and the new address, and please help us spread the word. Blog post, emails, word of mouth, anything can help
