Dense

We were faster this time around, and the list is a bit shorter than usual. Here’s what arrived on the Dense shelves this week.

Let’s hear for techno, with the new single by local heroin Ellen Allen, “Elephone”, Modeselektor‘s “Dark Side Of The Sun (feat. Puppetmastaz)” (both on Bpitch), the “Total 9″ triple LP compilation from Kompakt, Format B‘s full length “Steam Circuit” and Dave Aju new “Open Wide” CD. Also quite worth a listen is the very dub-techno oriented “Over Here Remixes” 12″ by (the usually more dubstep focused) Appleblim and Peverelist.

And while we’re speaking of Dubstep, Skream delivers a second new 12″ this month, this time the “Midnight Request Line Remixes” on Tempa (with reworks by Hot Chip and Switch), Unitz has a very wobbly “Drop” on Dub Police, Shackleton comes with a new 10″ and a new 12″ (respectively on Mordant and Scape), and Jack Sparrow plunders the beats on his new 12″ for Contagious.

Remarkable this week as well is Pivot‘s new full length on Warp, “O Soundtrack My Heart”, available on both CD and 2LP, which should give goosebumps to everybody into Battles. We’ve also got the US re-release of Stars Of The Lid‘s “Avec Laudanum” and the vinyl versions of the two heavy hitter that are Boris‘s “Smile” and Wolves In The Throne Room‘s “Two Hunters” (both on Southern Lord).

More joyful, the electro aisle is bouncing this week to the sound of the brand new Mickey Moonlight 12″ on Ed Banger, Kavinsky‘s new picture 12″ on Record Makers or yet another remix 12″ for Jamie Lidell, this time on Pudel Produkte.

Keeping the noisiest for the end, the breakcore local heroes Society Suckers and Duran Duran Duran mash it up together on a new white label, super limited but already available, while Prometheus Burning bring some “Retribution” on a luxury (if not grungy) 12″.

Finally, note that, starting next monday, we’ll have T. Raumschmiere‘s brand new CD, “I Tank U”, straight from the source. And if that’s not enough, we now stock Shitkatapult t-shirt as well.
